Pam, Ronnie and Succulents

Pam and Ronnie and Dan's succulents rule. I wish I had pictures of Pam in the sunlight in her fabulous outfit, jewelry, those shoes, hair and makeup. Ronnie not too bad either. Enjoy the succulents, you A Succulent Life readers. Dan's garden is a heaven for all succulents who want to be stars.

Dancing Newlyweds, Dancing Chairs, Dancing Succulelnts

The Happy Couple dancing their first dance. The Happy Couple riding high while we held our breaths. You would have too if you'd known the guys holding the chairs.

Easy breathing is watching Dan's succulents dance on the front doorsteps. They whisper amongst themselves about the comings and goings of visitors who ooh and aah over them.

Dancing and Flowers and Dancing Flowers

The yellow flowers in the big pot with the tree go to sleep at night and burst into color in the Malibu sun in the morning. Kato and Pam burst on the dance floor and cut a rug. The little pots dancing around the big pot with the tree. Sedate pots next to the front door waiting for their entrance. Happy gardens, happy dancers.

Just Succulents

Just succulents today. Dan's succulents. The little ones around the tree in the pot feel so good when you run your fingers over them. I've been watching Sex and The City on HBO. Just had the civil service and now the cast are eating at the diner. Enough already, time for bed.

Good night.

Succulents and Wedding Kisses

The Vows and The Kiss. What an adorable couple.

To those of you coming over from: a succulent life, who came to see the succulents in the pot making a table, what keeps the succulents from frying under the glass in the pot in the sun? I've put more pictures of Dan's succulents in for you today. I have any more pictures, hope you return.

Santa Monica Wedding/Malibu Garden

Here's the back of Kato's head watching Ronnie before Justin and Sophia take their vows under the giant pepper tree. Great setting.

Then back to garden artscapes. The big pot/table with the little succulents under glass has fascinated me since Dan designed it 7 years ago. I don't understand why the succulents don't burn up as the sun hits them through the glass. Malibu sun sensitive to little succulents under glass? I love a walking stick plant and the plant in the blue china pot reminds me of one. I'm wondering how heavy the pot by the pool is. I'm also wondering how Dan got all these pots in the back yard. Must have been a job. But talk about worth it. Everywhere you turn in this yard is another little or big surprise you didn't notice on your last visit, or yesterday's walk around. Pretty special

Gardens and Gowns

Here's Johnny Boy escorting one of the bridesmaids down the isle. I've known him since he was a little guy. He said sometimes people tell him he looks like Tony Soprano. I told him more like Big Pussy. Wait till you see a front picture of him and you'll agree. He's such a good guy he took that in stride. Then petals on the pathway, such a shame to let mere mortals walk on them. Let the "bride and bridesmaids gown parade" begin.

Today we had rain like they never see in California. Early in the day, tho they predicted rain I couldn't believe it would be anything but a drizzle. On the way home from Mom's, it poured. Took forever and at that bewitching time of day when you'd like to have a nap anyway. Stopped at Braums on the way to Fort Worth to see Vicki, Sarah and Gabariella, an adorable two year old. They were in a hurry, so I was on to Mom's with a chocolate malt for her.

And on to a few more Dan garden pictures.

Gardens and More Gardens

Here's Justin and his about to be Mother-In-Law in the driveway garden before the bride makes her entrance. In the 3rd picture, notice the giant pepper tree, so big they had big metal supports for it.

Speaking of beautiful trees, check out the last picture of the bent palm tree in Dan's yard by the outdoor room. Notice the colored light strung across. At night during a party, the lights make me look about 5'10" tall with big blond hair, bold makeup and giant jewels. Seriously.

The window looking into the outdoor room shows the three square pot plants sitting on the sill. Inside the outdoor room is the Raiders Of The Lost Ark fireplace. Sitting in that room in the morning looking out at the pool and pot plants all over the back patio is one of my favorite places. Dan says it's too cold in the mornings for that room, so he turns on the fireplace for me. Instead of logs this fireplace like all his fireplaces have the broken glass instead of logs. Each fireplace has different colored glass. Very hard for me to get up off the red sofa he's had in every house in the 35 years we've known him. But I tell myself, "Get up - ocean view on other side of house." That does it.

Artscape at the Arboretum last weekend

Here's artists at the Arboretum's Artscape this weekend. Great weather, great artists with wonderful pieces. I hope they sold out.

I'm a big fan of Vet in the red shirt in the first picture. Met her lovely friend, who's name I can't remember. Vet is already thinking about her State Fair piece. Got an email from Virginia and she's doing the same. Had to put in a plug for my "Friends of Lottie" show coming up in September at the State Fair of Texas. Amazing how many artists are already contemplating their piece. Not me, I'll wait until the last minute and drive me crazier than I already am.

Marty asked if I was putting his picture on the blog. Of course, Marty. You make my blog shine!
