White Rock Lake Garden & Artisans Tour - Hearts afire

Hearts will be growing all around my studio during the White Rock Lake Artists' Studio Tour. I'm in a heart mood. I'm bending thin rods and casting colored glass inside. Not just red but lots of colors. For sale during the tour.

Bob had a great idea. Make some more metal hearts, cast them and weld them to a rod. Call them "Lottie Pops". Pretty cool, huh? My Mom always said, "Lottie Kate, if you can't be smart, marry smart." Well, I was smart enough to do that. I'll post pictures of Lottie Pops as soon as I make them. Hope they look good enough to eat.

Don't miss the White Rock Lake Artists' Studio Tour, Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18.

Ted's Artisan's Collective

Ted sold my climbing hearts, shown above, so I brought him my cast heart inside the frame I welded. Look at that face behind my heart - is that a face that knows hearts????? He's really delightful and I think halfway sane or he pretends really well. Only Ted knows how many artists he wrangles for his Artisan's Collective Gallery. More than 6 artists (and he has a lot more than 6) and I nominate him for SaintHood. I walked around the store a bit and the pieces he's accepted from his artists get better and better. Make Artisan's Collective in the Bishop Art's District a destination. Am I sounding like a travel agent? Really, it's worth the drive and there are lots of great places to eat and other stores and galleries as well. Ted's gallery soars above the rest, so keep your money in your pocket until you get to his store, then let it fly.

Hearts In Bondage

Yes, it’s getting weirder now. Hearts preferring bondage to freedom. And THREE hearts? Weirder still. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day - Hearts Abound II

This little heart can cut you up. Literally. Made the glass a bit too sharp. Ted told me a goofy blond walked into his gallery picked up one of these hearts and went, "Oooh, it cut me." My response would have been, "Love Hurts." Probably would have worked. I asked Ted if he looked directly into her eyes and saw the back of her empty head. Come on, you know this girl, in fact you know several.

The BlackJack walk was a mystical world last night with all the fog and mist. Clouds covered the moon and stars, so only porch lights glowed spreading wet yellowish circles, spooky. Perfect atmosphere for Super Power Spider Woman. Bob's not embarrassed when I'm in my true Super Power Spider Woman ensemble, but like James Randall, BlackJack is easily embarrassed, so sweats are dress code for the his walk. Not to worry the power's is always with me.
