Tomorrow's the 4th of July

Tomorrow's the 4th of July.
Our neighborhood parade starts at 10:00.  Picnic for all courtesy of one of our most generous families.  Games for the children and a bounce house.  Hope it doesn't fly away, but a big balloon house flying over would be great.  Kids inside would win the coolest summer story.
Many years ago the fire truck left us for a fire right after the parade started.  Happened again the very next year.  Now I walk in front of the truck leading the parade.  Stopped that nonsense.
Happy 4th of July East Dallas and USA.

Congratulations, Katrina

Our very own Katrina got the job done and Sanger Elementary has a garden. Sure there was a long list of thank you's in the auditorium, but we all know she got this done.

Katrina, Mark and Jessica - Forest Hills is so lucky to have them.

Power's Back On

Most of Forest Hills' power was restored this afternoon. A long time for some residents without since the storm. Bob and I went to the movies, then for a hamburger all the while with fingers crossed hoping for power when we got home. Saw a few lights on as we drove through the neighborhood to our house. When we drove in the driveway our security motion lights came on. THANK YOU! to whoever got us back up and running. Here's a few more beautiful trees irreparably harmed.
