Lottie Logic #4 - conspiracy theory

I thought it was a once in a lifetime experience - until today.

Our Miss Calico ruled this house with an iron paw and not in a nice way. She tormented our Darling Blue Dog, even when he was in his wheelchair. She was the only one who rejoiced when he died and declared herself the ONLY only child. When BlackJack arrived she made it her life's work to wreak havoc with him. She barely tolerated the humans in the house.

When our Miss Calico turned 16 "someone" kidnapped her and immediately replaced her with an exact Miss Calico replica, but sweet. Nice to BlackJack, got in bed with us at night and let Bob pet her until she fell asleep. A sure sign this wasn't our cat. We explained to friends who knew her, but thought we were crazy.

But I experienced another kidnapping today. Went to see Mom at dinner time, brought her a chocolate malt as always. The meanest resident of the nursing home is sitting at Mom's table. I fear her. Took Andie, Sweet Andie, with me one day to visit Mom. Nasty lady is sitting at Mom's table. Sweet Andie turns to nasty lady (before I can warn her) and says, "Hello, how are you?" Nasty lady nearly bit her face off. Nasty lady is on oxygen. Andie and I both whispered about squeezing the little tube BUT WE DIDN'T.

Anyway, I sit down next to Mom and Nasty Lady says, "How are you, Lottie Kate". Mom calls me Lottie Kate. I nearly fell off my chair. I said, "Fine." Nasty Lady says, "What a pretty blouse you have on." I held onto my chair and said, "Thank you." Nasty Lady continues, "How nice of you to bring your Mom a malt." I got scared.

I know what you're thinking. It's a nursing home - someone gave her nice pills. Well, if they had nice pills that would work on Nasty Lady, don't you think they would have given them to her months ago? No, "someone" has kidnapped Nasty Lady and cloned someone just like her to replace her just like they did Miss Calico. There are no nice cat pills.

"Someone" is out there and they're targeting humans and fur people. You have been warned.

BlackJack and insulators in the snow

I would love to keep the snow on the insulator chandelier and put lights inside. Wouldn't that be cool? But only occasional snow on BlackJack. He's good for a few minutes, but then ready to come in.

Don't forget to vote for Barbara Dybala's mixer. I'm getting lots of names through email because friends can't figure out how to leave comments on the blog. I love that they're just like me.

2009 Christmas party pics #4

I love how people mingled so well this year. I have other pictures of Ms. Stearns pretty in purple. Now all are of her back.

To Patrizios tonight to meet great friends. One said the magic sentence tonight. She noted her 10 year old dogs were getting up slowly, too, because of arthritis. She reminded me her doggies were 10 years old. Gave me hope for BlackJack. He's getting up slowly going to be 14 soon. Becky's right, it's arthritis, not old age.

I had to give Evan a Christmas hug. Patrizios was slammed with customers. Without missing a beat Evan said, "Merry Christmas, Lottie." No way I could remember my customer's names on a very slow day. He's amazing and runs, in my humble opinion, the best Italian restaurant in town. This was our friends' first time, but not last. They were delighted with the food and couldn't get over the reasonable prices. How great for them to see the lighted trees of HP Village during the holidays, always my favorite.

I just finished putting together the first page of the brand new Octopus and Octopie website/blog up. Don't have a clue what to do now. If you get a chance, check out: www.octopusandoctopie.com.

Happy Valentine's Day - Hearts Abound II

This little heart can cut you up. Literally. Made the glass a bit too sharp. Ted told me a goofy blond walked into his gallery picked up one of these hearts and went, "Oooh, it cut me." My response would have been, "Love Hurts." Probably would have worked. I asked Ted if he looked directly into her eyes and saw the back of her empty head. Come on, you know this girl, in fact you know several.

The BlackJack walk was a mystical world last night with all the fog and mist. Clouds covered the moon and stars, so only porch lights glowed spreading wet yellowish circles, spooky. Perfect atmosphere for Super Power Spider Woman. Bob's not embarrassed when I'm in my true Super Power Spider Woman ensemble, but like James Randall, BlackJack is easily embarrassed, so sweats are dress code for the his walk. Not to worry the power's is always with me.

BlackJack

I had two short errands to run and BlackJack said if he could go he'd drive.  Yesterday I vacuumed and cleaned the entire car.  No puppy mung in the car?  Let's fix that.  BlackJack jumped in and immediately picked shotgun secret agent seat.  What happened to "I'll drive, Mom"?  We rolled down the windows, opened the sunroof and drove slow enough for BlackJack's ears to go back but not flap when he stuck his head out the window.

We went by Aunt Lynn's house to give her a check for the fun things bought at her last sale.  I told him I was just dropping the check in her mailbox so he could stay in the car.  That was fine with him since he's afraid of the house next to hers.  On to the post office.  I dropped the letters in the box since BlackJack was on the lookout for any cats in the parking lot that might need herding.  Thank goodness none appeared.  Home and exhausted dog immediately under Dad's drawing table for a good nap for the perfect escort.
